PARISH MINISTRIES

A parish flourishes on a unique combination of time, talent and treasure of people who are committed to building the kingdom of God where they live. The true gift of a Christian community is to live in hope and wait for people to respond in their own way. We are getting there.

The parish Adult Choir is interested in new members.   Anyone who wants to join the choir is encouraged to call the rectory and leave a name and number. You will be contacted very quickly.

More cantors are needed to fill out our Sunday schedule. We are very pleased and  proud of  our cantors, but we need more voices to fill out the Mass schedule. Don’t be shy. Please call the rectory if you are interested. Also, we are always searching for Lectors. Their schedule is flexible enough to allow time for other interests and obligations of a given Sunday. Again, if you are interested call the Rectory and leave your name and number to be contacted.

Eucharistic Ministers A ministry of religious, lay men and women selected by the Pastor and appointed by the Archbishop to help with the distribution of Holy Communion at the daily and Sunday masses.  They also bring Holy Communion to the hospitalized, the sick and the shut-ins of the parish.

If you have a gift for music or song or if you play a musical instrument, consider sharing these gifts with your parish on a regular basis.  Perhaps you don't have these gifts but know someone who does.

Cantor
The role of song leader or cantor at mass has a long and revered tradition in the Church.  Rooted in the role of cantor at the Jewish synagogue, the early Christian leaders of song were also considered leaders of prayer and teachers.  Our modern day cantors do much the same

Choir
The choir too has a deep and revered history in the Church.  A thousand year tradition of choral singing once dominated the Church's liturgical life and has given us some of its finest and most enduring works.

Musicians
Musicians of all kinds:  organist, choral leaders, those who play the violin, the trumpet, the guitar, the flute ... all these gifts enhance and grace our liturgies.

or speak to a choir member or one of the cantors after Mass

MUSIC MINISTRY

We are always looking for anyone who would like to share their time and talent in praise and thanksgiving to God. Call the Rectory (610-623-5160) and leave your name and number and we will have our Music Minister contact you. Thank you.
